Track Access

Access to the railway infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo is regulated by the Law on Railways in the Republic of Kosovo No. 04/L-063, adopted on 14.11.2011, as well as by the secondary legislation based on this law and other EU legislation. The INFRAKOS Network Statement serves as a guide for railway undertakings submitting applications for the allocation of infrastructure capacity.

General Conditions for Access

The Infrastructure Manager of Kosovo Railways J.S.C. – INFRAKOS, as the infrastructure administrator, allows access to the railway infrastructure for which the Infrastructure Manager of Kosovo Railways J.S.C. and railway undertakings conclude an access charging agreement. The access charging agreement regulates the relations, rights and obligations of the parties, specifies the allocated capacities, the level of charges for the use of railway infrastructure, and other matters related to ensuring transport safety and environmental protection.

The Infrastructure Manager of Kosovo Railways J.S.C. allows access to the railway infrastructure to all railway undertakings that hold a valid licence and safety certificate.

  • Is registered

    At the time of submitting the application, the operator is registered to provide railway transport services.

  • Valid licence

    Holds a valid railway undertaking licence issued by the competent authority.

  • Safety certificate

    Holds a valid safety certificate issued by the competent authority.

Infrastructure Managed by Infrakos

Information on the railway infrastructure has been presented in the Network Statement based on the circumstances known at the time of its preparation. Any changes that occur after its preparation will be updated in the future.

  • Railway Network

    The total length of the railway network is 335.079 km.

  • Borders

    Infrakos manages the railway network within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, including border crossing points.

  • Railway Network Connections

    The Kosovo railway network is connected to two countries: North Macedonia and Serbia.
